Surviving Social Distancing

We started social distancing in the middle of March 2020.  In a few weeks' time, we would have been doing it for a year. At the start,  I was worried that I would not do too well as I am a people person and it would be hard for me not to be able to socialize with my friends.  To survive social distancing and as part of my coping skills against depression or anxiety, I created a routine for my day.  Having a structure to my day helps to anchor me.  My day would include time for exercise, work, study and prayers.  As a result of having this structure to guide my day,  my mental wellness is being maintained and my physical health has improved too.  If you feel that you are suffering psychologically because of social distancing, it may be a good idea for you to consider making a schedule for your day.  Knowing how your day is organized will be a coping strategy against depression or anxiety.  This seemingly unimportant action will get you through the social distancing.  You will survive and thrive.
